    Arikad is a village where the oldest Udupi brahmin family resided. The proof in the name of "Madham" and a small temple is situated in this madham. Now the temple has been reconstructed and pooja has been started in this temple. This is a village where no Government offices situated. The villagers have to go Primary Health Centre beyond 4 k.m. for primary health care. The village is surrounded by paddy farms. The Pattikayal is famous in this area for black water.

    My Tharavadu situated in Kizhayoor near Pattambi. Kizhayoor where the place P.R.Nathan the famous writer born and brought up. Our tharavadu Ottoor veedu. Kallammarthodi another famous tharavadu there. Velleerapatti vishnu Temple, Vellakulangara Vishnu temple, Kattuthrikkovil Siva temple situated in Kizhayoor. Railwayline Shoranur -Pattambi going through Kizhayoor. Bharathapuzha is silently running. Kadapparambathu Kavu's one thattakam is Kizhayoor. Kizhayoor grantly performing Vela of Kadapparambathu kavu. Most of the residents are farmers. Really a very beautiful village.
